Title: The knitted jersey-a better attempt at a poem
Post by: mollytime on June 08, 2009, 02:14:35 am
In those two years of middle school,
I wasa knitted jersey, gay and colourful

You were only plain and dull,
 That everyone could see

You didn’t like my colours, so you pulled at a loose thread,
You pulled away, it hurt. It’s okay, you said

You stripped me of my confidence, the most precious thing to me,
Then you knitted me back up again so people couldn’t see

That places where my confidence was, were great big open holes,
And, oh my gosh, where those holes were it really hurt, like loads

I met you in my second year, as happy as can be,
And slowly and very painfully you unravelled all of me

Then care fully with lots of patience, you nitted me back up,
You trodded slowly, carefully, and showed me to have fun

Where my holes once were, are all patched up to ge,
You liked my livly colours, all gay and colourful

But then you said you had to go, you said you had to leave,
So I went back to being careful, went back to being low

I was left all alone, with strange teachers, girlas and boys,
They played with me  and unravelled me, just like I was a toy

So friend if you can read this, come right back to me,
There are new holes all over me, where my confidence used to be.
