This
poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a
New York
Hospital .

It was sent
by

a medical doctor - Make sure to read what is in the closing statement
AFTER THE POEM.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever
watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to
the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a
butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading
night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so
fast.

Time is short.

The music won't
last.

Do you run through each day

On the
fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the
reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your
bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through
your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so
fast.

Time is short.

The music won't
last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it
tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see
his

sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good
friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call
and say,'Hi'

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance
so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't
last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You
miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry
through your day,

It is like an unopened
gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a
race.

Do take it slower

Hear the
music

Before the song is over.

Dear All: PLEASE pass this mail on to everyone you know -
even to those you don't know! It is the request of a special girl who will soon
leave this world due to cancer.

This young girl has 6 months left
to live, and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter telling everyone to
live their life to the fullest, since she never will.

She'll
never make it to prom, graduate from high school, or get married and have a
family of her own.

By you sending this to as many people as
possible, you can give her and her family a little hope, because with every name
that this is sent to, The American Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name
to her treatment and recovery plan. One guy sent this to 500 people! So I know
that we can at least send it to 5 or 6. It's
not even your money, just
your time!

PLEASE PASS ON AS A LAST REQUEST.

just got this today it was so disjointed by so many hundreds of pass ons that it was almost unintelligible so i edited it  so here it is as it should have been many times ago.

12 OF US IN A ROOM TOGETHER

I am supposed to pick 12 women (who have touched my life) and who I think   might participate. I think that if this group of women were ever to be in a room together, there is nothing that would be impossible. I hope I chose the  right twelve. May my hugs, love, gestures and communications remind you how special you are. Please send this back to me.

Remember to make a wish before you read the quotation. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Just send this to twelve women and let me know what happens on the fourth day. Try not to break this, please. Did you  make a  wish yet? If you don't make a wish, it won't come true.. This is your last chance to make a wish!

        Quotation:
'May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are  born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.'

Now, send this to 12 women (or more) within the next 5 minutes.. And  remember to send this back. I count as 1... you'll see why

rolling on floor laughing, but that Las Vegas story is amazing. And I have to say, I did fall off from my chair when I read that doctor's story.

This is not exactly a pass it on email, nor do I know whether it actually happened, but the opening one from piersdad triggered my memory of a beautiful story that says a lot about love and generosity:

A six-year-old boy developed a serious kidney disease and was in danger of dying unless a suitable donor could be found. Unfortunately, he had a rare blood type which made a match very unlikely. His parents and uncles and aunties all offered to be tested, but they weren't compatible. Nor were there any matches to be found in country-wide data banks.

However, during the course of the investigations the medical team discovered that his eight-year-old sister was a perfect match. Nor, they told his parents, would there be any technical problem in transplanting one of her kidneys into him. This presented their parents with a great hope, but a dreadful dilemma at the same time. They wanted their son to live, but they didn't want to pressure the eight-year-old; they wanted her to make the decision of her own choice.

Carefully, they explained to her the gravity of her brother's situation, and how she could save his life by going through an operation for him. She asked them to wait a few moments while she thought about it. Finally she took a deep breath and said, "Yes, I'll do it."

Her parents, overjoyed, were hurrying from the room to ring the doctor when her voice stopped them. They turned to see her standing, a fat tear beginning to well from one eye. "Mummy, Daddy," she whispered, "you will remember me after David gets better, won't you?"

"Why would you want to know that, darling?" they asked.

"Because I'm going to have to die when David takes my kidney," she said.

She had not understood that she could give up a kidney and still have one left -- yet she was still prepared to sacrifice herself for her brother.

Did you hear about the dyslexic, insomniac agnostic? He sat up all night worrying about whether or not there was a dog, and when he couldn't make up his mind he sold his soul to Santa.
